Day 9
Day 9
September 16
“He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth; he sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.”
Psalm 135:7
Today the wind shifted and blew from the Southwest giving me a strong tail wind the entire day. Praise God! We started the day from Gooding, Idaho and ended in Arco, Idaho. The day started out cool, overcast and spitting rain. By the afternoon it was mostly sunny but stayed cool all day. We stopped by Craters of the Moon National Monument for a few quick photos then on to Arco for the evening.
I was so thankful for the shifting winds. It’s hard to fully describe but wind has a huge impact on distance cycling since every bit of energy has to be managed. When wind resistance increases it requires significant additional effort to overcome in order to maintain the scheduled distance. Praying for tail wind again tomorrow.
