Day 3
Day 3
September 10
Today was a 94 mile day from Yakima, Washington to Kennewick, Washington following the Yakima River through agricultural land and desert of eastern Washington. The Yakima valley is known for it's vinyards, apple orchards and hops growing. We enjoyed stopping breifly by a hops processing plant to see how the process works. The rest of the day we had a stiff head wind and 90 degrees + temperatures. One flat tire, a bulging tire needing replacement and road construction made the day interesting. Tomorrow is a 100+ mile day with a long climb over Blue Mountain pass at the end of the day so a good nights rest is in order.
